Burial of a Pet

Burial of a Pet

Scripture:

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the strong mountains: your justice like the great deep;  you save both man and beast, O LORD.  (PS. 36.6)

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope, for the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the liberty of the glory of the children of God. (Rom. 8.18-20)

Prayers:

O God, whose blessed Son assured us that not even a sparrow falls to the ground outside of your mindful compassion: give us grace to entrust N. to your never-failing care, and bring us all to your heavenly kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

Almighty God, you hold all things in your merciful embrace: we give you thanks for entrusting N. to our home, our love, and our care; for the joy of his companionship and the blessing of his affection; and for opening up to us through him a wonder and delight in your creation.  And we pray that, now the course of his life is ended, we may offer himback to you from whom he came, in sure and certain hope that he will share with us in the new creation won for us through the death, burial, and resurrection of your SonJesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen

Our Father….

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore.  Amen.
